Race Report 9 May
A combined fleet of over 25 sailors managed to squeeze in racing around Mother’s Day commitments. Warm overnight temperatures owing to cloud cover meant the morning westerly was not particularly strong, but did hang around for longer than previous weeks. This provided mostly stable breeze for the second weekend of the winter series with three races completed (although the last race shortened). In the standard rig championship, Luke Parker won the first race while Rod Barnes secured the other two races, while in the point score, races were won by John Vasey and Tim Heath (equal race 4), Geoff Boscoe (race 5) and Rod Barnes (race 6). In the radial rig championship, Sylvie Stannage was the winner of the first two races with Ethan Lozevski securing the third race and in the point score Quentin Burns, Diana Chen and Peter Collie each won a race. Many thanks to all of those who

60 Seconds With Kerryn Smith
1. How old were you when you first stepped on a boat? About 3 years old, on Moreton Bay. 2. If money (and sailing ability) were no limit, what boat would you buy? Swan 65.3. What is your ultimate sailing goal? To compete successfully, and master as many skills as I can while I can. 4. Tell us the story behind the name of your Laser? My two kids used to argue about who was the favoured child, so ‘Favourite Child III’ seemed like a good boat name. 5. If you could add any ingredient to DBSC’s world’s best toasties – what would it be? You can’t improve on perfection .6. What are your second/third favourite hobbies (assuming sailing is #1)? Travel and reading – not done much of the former in 12 months so spent more time on the latter. 7. Describe what you do for work in less
